    About Pumpkin Soup Recipe

    A healthy soup especially for the winter. The exclusive taste with coconut milk is unique not only to South India but many Asian countries too.

    Pumpkin Soup

    Ingredients to make Pumpkin Soup

    • 1 cup - chopped yellow pumpkin
    • 1/2 tsp - grated ginger
    • 2-3 pepper pods freshly crushed
    • 1/2 tbsp - cooking oil/butter
    • 1/2 cup - coconut milk
    • 1 cup - pumpkin stock
    • salt to taste

    How to make Pumpkin Soup

    1. Boil the pumpkin in water till well cooked. Strain the stock and keep aside.
    2. Heat oil/butter in a heavy bottomed vessel. Add the ginger garlic, fry for a minute, add the boiled pumpkin. Stir well, cool and puree the mixture.
    3. Add the stock, mix well and boil in another pan. Add salt and pepper.
    4. Take it off the fire and add the coconut milk. Serve it hot with garlic bread.

    My Tip:

    The coconut milk is a must for the unique flavour of the soup.
