ABOUT Chicken in lemon garlic sauce RECIPE

Chicken on bone cooked in a zesty lemon garlic sauce. A meal in itself with some salads on the sides. If you still feel hungry add a few pieces of good quality bread.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken on bone: 500 gms
  2. olive oil: 2 teaspoons
  3. Garlic: chopped 2 teaspoons
  4. Salt: as per taste
  5. Pepper powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Worcestershire sauce: 2 teaspoon
  7. Lemon: 1
  8. Mustard: 1 tsp (sauce or powder)
  9. Butter: 1 tsp
  10. Parsley: handful chopped
  11. Milk: 3/4 cup (or chicken stock or cream)
  12. Sugar: 1/3 tsp

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken with 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper, 1/2 teaspoon garlic and 1/2 teaspoon olive oil. Keep aside for 30 minutes.
  2. Once you are ready to cook Pre heat the oven at 200C.
  3. Heat an oven proof dish (even in which you bake a cake would do but make sure to watch it and stir or it will burn at the bottom) on Gas. Or use cast iron or other oven proof skillet.
  4. Add the rest of the olive oil and place the chicken pieces in a single layer. Keep the flame low. cook for 5 minutes then flip and cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. Add 2 table spoon of water to the pan and place it in the oven. Bake for 20 minutes. Then turn the pieces and sprinkle some salt and cook for another 20 minutes or till it is cooked through. Take out the pan and take out the chicken pieces
  6. Place this pan on gas oven and add the rest of the garlic, zest of one lemon. Stir and add the worcestershire sauce. Mix on low flame to deglaze the pan. Add the mustard and milk. Mix.
  7. when it start to bubble Add butter and a teaspoon of lemon juice and mix. Add the parsley and the chicken pieces. Toss and serve hot with some salad.
