ABOUT Veg clear soup / Desi soup RECIPE

This was a soup which my grandmother used to prepare on a wooden fire during rainy days.This was one of the methods adopted by our forefathers to make kids eat vegetables and ghee.The aroma that spreads in the house while cooking attracts many of the family members. I still remember as a kid waiting for the soup to be poured into my bowl.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Lady finger - 4
  2. Tomato - 1
  3. Shallots - 4 to 5
  4. Beans - 4 to 5
  5. Ghee - 1 tsp
  6. Water - 2 and 1/4 cup
  7. Pepper powder as per your taste
  8. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Chop the veggies as per your wish. Keep them aside.Take a pan, and add a teaspoon of ghee along with few drops of oil so that the ghee doesn't burn.
  2. Add in all the veggies and saute for a minute. Next add in salt and toss them. Heat ghee in a large pot and add in the veggies, saute and pour the 2 and 1/4 cups of water. Cover and let it cook.
  3. Next add in the pepper powder. Mix well. Cover and cook till the veggies are half done. Open the lid ,add water, cover and cook till the veggies are completely done. Bring the soup to a boil. Once it starts bubbling switch off the flame.
  4. Check for salt and pepper powder and adjust the seasoning accordingly.
  5. Soup is ready to be served. Serve hot to enjoy!
