Ingredients to make Diet Salad 2 (Russian Salad)

  • white chana
  • cucumber-1 peeled and diced (check for bitterness)
  • carrot -1 or 2 grated
  • onion big -1 or 2
  • coriander leaves 1/4 cup
  • mustard seeds 1/2 tspoon
  • split black gram dal-1 tsp
  • oil -1 tsp
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise(Optional)
  • Flaxseeds powder- 2 tspoon
  • salt - 1/2 tspoon

How to make Diet Salad 2 (Russian Salad)

  1. Pressure cook white chana with little salt
  2. cut onion into small pieces fry in 1 tea spoon oil with little salt till translucent(Optional)
  3. In a bowl add cucumber, carrot add little salt and mix it. to this add onions, boiled chana
  4. In a kadai add oil add mustard seeds and after it splutters add black gram dal fry till golden and add to the veg mixture along with the flax seed powder and stir them well,optionally can be mixed with the mayonnaise.
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves
  6. Salad is ready to serve

My Tip:

Flax Seed powder is rich in Omega3 fatty acids "good fat' for a healthy heart & contains Lignans with estrogen and antioxidant qualities.When mixed with Mayonnaise,the salad would be best for lunch time and will make you fuller for long.A Russian Salad
