ABOUT Berry Smoothie Bowl RECIPE

There's something about berries that attracts everyone to them. Bite sized bombs packed with fabulous anti aging , belly tightening , fiber and nutrient packed goodness ,their sweet and tart flavors marry with almost everything. This smoothie bowl is a meal in itself, full for the probiotic yogurt, berries and the added benefit of small seeds. This will replace your meal and give you everything essentially needed by your body in one meal. Since This is salt free, you'll also detox and not have water retention in the morning. So you'll feel at least 300-400 gsm lighter. Inspired by the dietitian Dr shikha's articles on the newspaper. If you don't want yogurt at night, feel free to substitute with almond milk or soy milk. Flax seeds must be ground fresh or they loose their nutrient value. Wheat grass can be grown.on your window sill by soaking and potting wheat berries.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 200 gms assorted berries, I used strawberries
  2. 2-3 tbsp sunflower seeds toasted
  3. 1 tbsp toasted and fresh ground flax seeds
  4. 1/2 banana
  5. 1 tbsp Honey
  6. 2-3 tbsp chopped kiwi or pineapple or apple or some crunchy fruit to garnish
  7. 6-7 mint leaves
  8. 10 wheat grass leaves -optional
  9. 200 gms homemade yogurt or same quantity unflavored almond milk or soy milk

Instructions

  1. Place 3-4 tbsp of water and the wheat grass in your blender. Blend and strain out the liquid, squeezing as.much liquid as you can. Wheat grass is very fibrous and generally gets stuck between teeth. So this way you get the benefits without
  2. Save 2 strawberries or other berries for garnish. Place yogurt or unflavored,unsweetened nut milk, honey, mint leaves, sunflower seeds, ground flax seeds and chopped banana in the blender.
  3. Add wheat grass liquid and blend till smooth.
  4. Serve in a bowl garnished with some seeds, chopped berries and the crunchy fruit.
