This is a crispy and a very healthy snack, made with sweet potatoes.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1/2 kg sweet potato boiled n peeled
  2. 1.5 cup whole wheat flour
  3. 1/2 sugar or jaggery dissolved in 1 cup water
  4. 1/2 cup desi ghee for shortening
  5. Oil for frying
  6. Cardamom powder


  1. Mix the flour, crushed sweet potato and ghee or cardamom powder.
  2. Make a hard dough using sweet water and keep it aside for 20 mins.
  3. Now heat the oil or ghee in a pan.
  4. Make small roundels of dough and make mathris. You can use cookie cutter also.
  5. Now cook this small mathris on very low flame till they become golden brown in colour.
  6. If you wish to make it even more guilt free, then bake them in a preheated oven at 180 degree celsius for 20 minutes, and serve.
