A dosa that is hearty and healthy. I have got the inspiration for this recipe in Jaya Shenoys cookbook

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Cucumber 1 med sized - grated
  2. 1" ginger piece - grated
  3. 3 - 5 green chillies finely chopped
  4. 1/4 cup wheat flour
  5. 2 cups roasted rava
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Water for making a batter
  8. Oil for pan frying

Instructions

  1. In a vessel, mix the grated cucumber, ginger, chillies, flours, rava and salt with sufficient water to make a thick batter.
  2. On a hot tava, pour a ladleful of batter. Do not spread thin.
  3. Pour 1 Tsp oil around the dosa and on it, cover.
  4. When the dosa is ready, the steam from the dosa falls back on the tava, making a noise.
  5. Turn the dosa over and after a few seconds, remove onto a plate and serve hot with wet or dry chutney.
