Coconut Oats Laddu

Ingredients to make Coconut Oats Laddu

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 tin condensed milk (200 gms)
  • 1 teaspoon powdered cardamom or
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg

How to make Coconut Oats Laddu

  1. Take rolled oats in a thick bottom steel wok. Roast on medium flame
  2. Turn off the flame when the colour begins to change and a sweet aroma emanates. Let the oats cool.
  3. Grind roasted oats to a fine powder.
  4. Take powdered oats, desiccated coconut in a thick bottom steel wok. Mix well. Add condensed milk.
  5. Cook the laddu mixture on low flame stirring continuously.
  6. Add cardamom powder or grated nutmeg.
  7. Scrape the sides and bottom of wok while stirring.Cook till the mixture becomes thick.
  8. After some time, the mixture will begin to leave the sides and bottom of the wok. It will move as a lump while stirring. Turn off the heat.
  9. Let the mixture becomes warm or until it is comfortable for you to handle.
  10. Make walnut size laddu one by one till the mixture is over.
  11. You will have to make laddu quickly because as the mixture becomes cold, it tends to harden.
  12. The laddus come out round and glossy
  13. Store cold laddu in an air- tight container.

My Tip:

You may use cardamom or nutmeg for flavour. However, plain laddus also taste great.
