ABOUT Beetroot Raita RECIPE

I love experimenting with food, beetroot is good for anemic people but due to its raw taste it gets avoided. So I thought of experimenting with it and made raita which turned out pretty tasty.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Beetroot - 1
  2. Thick curd - 1 1/2 cups
  3. Green chilies - 1Jeera - 1 tsp
  4. oil - 1 tsp -
  5. jeera powder - 1 tsp
  6. mint leaves for garnishing.
  7. Chat masala as per taste
  8. Black pepper as per taste
  9. Black salt as per taste
  10. salt as per taste


  1. Wash and grate the beetroot. Keep aside.
  2. Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a wok pan, add cumin seeds/jeera.
  3. Add the grated beetroot and cook for a few minutes.Let it cool.
  4. Take the curd in a bowl. Churn it well.
  5. Add black salt, salt, chat masala, jeera powder, 1 chopped green chilly. (Make sure you add in these powders gradually as you don't want either of them to dominate the flavour.)
  6. Now mix in beetroot and chill the raita in the fridge.
  7. Garnish with mint leaves before serving.

Thanks for these receipies ,as it is Summer now i will go with beetroot raita
