Soak the kala chana for 6 hours or overnight.
Add the onions, garlic, ginger, whole spices including black cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and peppercorn and salt into a pressure cooker and 1 inch water with the kala chana
Cook for 6-8 whistles. Cool and separate the water. Grid this in a mixer, add water if you must
Now chop 2 onions, green chillies, coriander, ginger ( every thing finally chopped).
Mix into the paste. Add chat masala and red chilli powder if needed. Add garam masala powder and 1 lemon juice and mix them well.
Make tikkis and shallow fry on a non stick pan. Serve hot
