Fish Fry

Ingredients to make Fish Fry

  • Fish of your choice 1 1/2 kg.
  • ginger Garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • salt 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder 2 tbsp
  • roasted cumin powder 1 tbsp
  • Roasted coriander powder 1tbsp
  • turmeric 1/2 tsp (optional)
  • Green chilli paste 1 tbsp (optional)
  • lemon juice 1-2 tbsp (optional)
  • oil for frying.

How to make Fish Fry

  1. Clean the fish and make deep slits in the pieces for the marination to seep in properly.
  2. Combine all the ingredients listed to marinade the fish. It will be better if it is done one day before. Otherwise give it a standing time of atleast 2 hours.
  3. Deep fry them on medium flame. I did not coat them with any batter.
  4. I fried them directly few at a time. Serve with steaming bowl of rice and dal tadka.

My Tip:

If you wish you can coat the fish with whole wheat flour and fry. In the wheat flour add some salt and chilli powder also to enhance the flavour. Alternately gram flour or besan also can be used.
