ABOUT Aloo paratha RECIPE

Indian flat bread can be had for breakfast and with evening tea.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Wheat flour 4 cups
  2. Salt according to taste
  3. Potatoes 4-5
  4. Onions 2
  5. coriander leaves [handful]
  6. Green chillies 4
  7. Red chilli powder half tbsp
  8. Turmeric half tbsp
  9. Gram masala
  10. Dry fenugreek leaves crushed half tbsp
  11. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add flour, half tbsp salt, water and knead to make a dough. Cover the dough with moist cloth and keep aside.
  2. For filling
  3. In a bowl add boiled potatoes and mash them using your hands or spoon. Add salt according to taste Add red chilli powder, turmeric, fenugreek leaves gram masala, green chillies and corriender.
  4. In a pan heat add 4tbsp oil
  5. Add onions and fry until they turn golden in colour.
  6. Add the mashed potatoes and fry the mixture for about 5 mins
  7. Let the mixture cool.
  8. Till than make round balls of dough.
  9. Using rolling board roll the dough ball into a round chapati
  10. Put the stuffing at the centre
  11. Wrap stuffing ball by lifting all sides of rolled circle towards top, seal the edges and again give it a round ball shape.
  12. Roll it out into circle of 6-7 inch diameter (like roti or chapati). Do not make it very thin by pressing it too much. Fry the Partha on tawa. Add 1/2 tbsp oil around the edges. Flip the Paratha and add 1/2 tbsp oil.
  13. Press the Partha with a spatula.
  14. Keep flipping the Paratha till you see golden brown spots on paratha
  15. Once done enjoy parathas with chutney, Pickle or curd. You can use have it with tea.
