ABOUT Sweet and Sour Banana chutney RECIPE

This sweet and sour chutney is very delicious and easy to prepare.You can eat it during fasting days by simply adding sendha salt instead of regular salt.Cinnamon powder added to this recipe enhances its taste and takes it to a different level.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Bananas—4,medium size ,sliced or chopped in small pieces
  2. Sugar—1 cup
  3. Almonds—8-10,soaked in warm water for 20 min
  4. Raisins—10-15
  5. Salt—1/4 tspn or as per taste
  6. Degi mirch/Kashmiri mirch—1/2 tspn
  7. Cinnamon powder—1/4 tspn
  8. Laung/cloves powder—1/4 tspn
  9. Black pepper—5,powdered
  10. Vinegar—2 Tbsp

Instructions

  1. First of all soak almonds in warm water .Remove skin from ripe bananas,cut them into small pieces and cook them in a heavy bottomed pan with vinegar until they are completely softened.
  2. Once bananas are completely softened, add sugar till it dissolves well.Now switch off the gas.
  3. Now remove the skin from soaked almonds,slice them and add them to cooked bananas.Add raisins and other spices too. Cook it again for next two minutes only.
  4. Once it cools down store it n a dry,air tight bottle and keep it in refrigerator .It stays fresh for 4-5 days.
  5. You can enjoy it with paranthas and pooris.
