Palak Chicken

Ingredients to make Palak Chicken

  • 500 gms chicken
  • 400 gms palak
  • 2 medium sized onions chopped
  • 1 tomato finely chopped
  • coriander seeds 1 tsp
  • coriander powder 1 tsp
  • ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  • red chilli powder to taste
  • salt to taste
  • yogurt 1 tbsp
  • cardamom 2
  • cloves 4
  • black pepper 4

How to make Palak Chicken

  1. Wash and drain the chicken properly.
  2. Add yogurt, chilli powder, pinch of salt & ginger garlic paste to the chicken to marinate it.
  3. Mix it well and set aside for 1 hour
  4. Boil the spinach. drain water once it gets cooled. grind it and keep it as a paste.
  5. Take a pan. add 2 tbsp oil and heat
  6. Add ginger garlic paste and onions and fry them till golden brown
  7. Add tomatoes and fry them for 4-5 minutes till the time they become mushy
  8. Add cloves, coriander seeds, black pepper and cardamom
  9. Now add coriander powder and red chilli powder, salt and cook for 2-3 minutes till the oil is separated from the masala
  10. Now add marinated chicken to it. Add about half cup of water. Close the lid and let the chicken cook till tender.
  11. Once the chicken is tender, add palak paste to it. Cook it for about 10 minutes on medium flame.
  12. Palak chicken is ready to serve

My Tip:

Fry the masala till it leaves oil for better taste. You may add 4-5 spoons of water while frying the masala from time to time.
