A delicious and yummy kachodi, that can be served for evening tea, made with rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rice flour one cup
  2. Suji half cup
  3. Wheat flour half cuo
  4. Ajwain half spoon
  5. Salt one spoon
  6. Oil four spoon
  7. For filing---
  8. Chana daal200gm
  9. Green chilli chopped one
  10. Ginger chopped one spoon
  11. Red chilli powder 3/4spoon
  12. Hing one pinch
  13. Salt as taste
  14. Garam msala one tea spoon
  15. Cumin half spoon
  16. Sauf powder one spoon
  17. Onion chopped one
  18. Oil one spoon
  19. Fir frying enough oil

Instructions

  1. Rice Sufi wheat flour, oil , salt mix together and knead a dough. Keep side for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a tbsp of oil in a pressure cooker . when oil is hot then add hing [asafoetida] and cumin.
  3. When cumin seeds change in golden brown, add green chilli , ginger and mix properly.
  4. Add chana daal(washed and soaked) and all the spices. Mix properly.
  5. Add one cup water, close the lid and wait for 3-4 whistle . remove the lid once the pressure comes down, mash the stuffing and keep aside.
  6. Make lemon sized balls out of the dough.
  7. Take each dough ball, flatten it and then put some stuffing in it and reshape it, flatten it to form the kachodi, do the same for all of them.
  8. Fry the kachodis in hot oil, on a medium flame.
  9. Serve with some aloo ki subzi and some chutney.
