ABOUT Potato Spinach balls RECIPE

Tasted something similar in a restaurant and wanted to recreate it with my own additions. It was an immediate hit with all my friends and family. This dish with a crunchy exterior and an uber soft inside is sure a delight to the taste buds!

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 3 large peeled potatoes boiled and mashed
  2. Half a bunch of spinach leaves chopped finely
  3. Few curry leaves roughly chopped
  4. 2 tablespoons corn flour mixed with water
  5. 3/4 cup bread crumbs
  6. 2 teaspoons chilli powder
  7. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  8. 1 tablespoon kasuri methi
  9. Salt as per taste
  10. Oil to deep fry

Instructions

  1. Mash the boiled potatoes well in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the curry leaves, spinach leaves, chilli powder, garam masala, kasuri methi and salt.
  3. Mix well and make a dough without adding any water.
  4. Now make small balls of equal size from the dough.
  5. Take each ball and dip in the cornflour batter and immediately coat with the bread crumbs completely.
  6. Heat oil for deep frying. Fry the prepared balls till golden brown on both the sides.
  7. Serve hot with some spicy mint chutney on the side.
