Vegetable biryani

Ingredients to make Vegetable biryani

  • Basmati rice - 1 cup
  • Refined oil
  • Green peas - 1/4 th cup
  • onions - 1 [chopped]
  • carrots - 1
  • cauliflower florets - 1/4 th cup
  • French beans - 1/4 th cup
  • ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tsp
  • Few whole spices and condiments [cardamom, cloves, cinnamon]
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • curd - 1/4 th cup
  • coriander leaves for garnishing

How to make Vegetable biryani

  1. Chop or dice all veggies and keep aside.
  2. In a heavy bottom wok pour little oil and add whole spices & condiments and then add onions and saute until they turn golden brown
  3. Now add the ginger garlic paste, all veggies , garam masala and curd. Let the veggies cook for 5 mins
  4. In meanwhile cook basmati rice in another wok with little salt until 3/4 done
  5. Now drain water from rice completely and spread the rice over the vegetable masala.
  6. Cover the wok propely with no space left for the steam to escape. U can seal the lid by atta dough.
  7. Let this cook on low flame for about 10 mins. Switch off the flame and let the wok rest for another 8 mins.
  8. Now open the lid and mix rice well and garnish with coriander.
  9. Veg biryani is ready to serve.
