Spicy hearts

Ingredients to make Spicy hearts

  • potatoes- 2( boiled and mashed)
  • carrot- 1
  • peas- fistfull
  • Beetroot- 1 cup diced
  • salt- as per our taste
  • chilli powder- 1 spoon
  • Channa masala powder-1/2 spoon
  • onion- finely chopped
  • coriander leaves- finely chopped
  • lemon juice- 1 spoon
  • fennel seeds
  • Bread crumbs ( home made by roasting 2 bread slices without oil)

How to make Spicy hearts

  1. Boil and mash potato in a bowl. Boil carrot, peas and beet root in a separate bowl and drain the extra water in them using a strainer.
  2. When dry, add these vegetable to mashed potato.
  3. Now add salt, chilli powder, fennel seeds, Coriander leaves , lemon juice , raw onion pieces and bread powder
  4. Mix it like a dough and take a small portion of it and flatten with your palms.
  5. Now take a heart shaped cutter and press it. Continue to make all the hearts.
  6. Heat a non stick dosa tawa and add oil. When hot, place all heart shaped patties and fry both sides.
  7. Crunchy and spicy hearts are ready to eat

My Tip:

As we mix bread powder to our mix, all the moisture will be absorbed by bread powder and make our spicy hearts crunchy.
