ABOUT Black Rice Pudding RECIPE

This easy Thai style Black Rice Pudding is healthy, wholesome and requires minimal ingredients. This recipe is brought to you in association with the Murugappa Group for the 'Know your Staples' campaign.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1/2 cup Black rice
  2. 200 ml coconut milk
  3. 1/4 cup sugar
  4. 4 cups water
  5. 1/4 tsp Salt
  6. Toasted Coconut for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Soak black rice overnight in water.
  2. Drain and rinse rice several times in the morning.
  3. Transfer to a heavy bottom pan.
  4. Add 4 cups water and let the rice boil, uncovered for about 20 minutes or till slightly soft.
  5. Add in the coconut milk and salt at this time.
  6. Cook for another 40 minutes or till thick and rice is fully cooked.
  7. Add sugar 1/4 cup or according to taste.
  8. Top with toasted coconut and serve warm or chilled.
