ABOUT Gajar ka halwa RECIPE

Gajar ka halwa is traditional Indian dessert made up of carrots cooked in milk , it is lengthy process but worth making during season.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 2 kg peeled and grated carrots.
  2. 1.5 litre milk
  3. 4 tbsp pure ghee
  4. 12 tbsp sugar
  5. 1 tsp cardamom powder
  6. half bowl dryfruits (almonds
  7. cashewnuts & raisins)

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in kadai
  2. Add grated carrots and cook upto 4 minutes
  3. Now add milk and cook upto 20 minutes
  4. keep stirring continuous and till milk evaporates.
  5. Now add sugar to it .
  6. Add cardamom powder and dryfruits to it.
  7. keep stirring till sugar dissolves and mixes very well .
  8. keep stirring till milk evaporates .
  9. It will leave the sides of kadai when halwa is done and ghee will separate.
  10. cool it or you can serve hot .
  11. Garnish with your choice of dryfruits.
