ABOUT Murg Lajawab RECIPE

Murg Lajawab has both chicken pieces and chicken mince. For a richer taste you can also add mutton mince.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 8 pieces chicken
  2. 200 gm chicken mince
  3. For the Khada masala (whole mixed spices)
  4. 2 green cardamoms
  5. 2 black cardamoms
  6. 4 cloves
  7. 1 cinnamon
  8. 1 bay leaf
  9. Few strands javitri/mace
  10. Other ingredients
  11. 2 onions chopped fine
  12. 1 tbsp ginger paste
  13. 1 tbsp garlic paste
  14. cup ready made tomato puree
  15. for the Dry masala-
  16. 1 tbsp Kashmiri Red Chilli powder
  17. 2 tbsp chicken masala
  18. 1 tsp garam masala
  19. salt to taste
  20. cup cream

Instructions

  1. Heat some oil. Add the khada masala. Now add the ginger and garlic paste. Saute for a few seconds and add the chopped onions. Fry till the onions are translucent.
  2. Now add the dry masala and bhuno for a while. Add the chicken mince, stir, cover and cook for 3 minutes.
  3. Add the chicken pieces and fry on a high flame for 5 minutes. Add the tomato puree and cook for another 3 minutes.
  4. Cover and cook till the chicken is done. Add the cream and take off the flame. Garnish with few sprigs of fresh green coriander.
