Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups dried Vatana or dried peas soaked overnight
  2. 1 cup finely chopped onions
  3. 1 ripe tomato
  4. 2 cups chopped mixed vegetables such as carrots,beans,corn
  5. 2spoons pav bhaji masala
  6. Pinch of turmeric
  7. Half cup ghee or butter
  8. 2 spoons chilli powder
  9. Salt to taste
  10. 2-3 cloves garlic
  11. 2 spoons ginger paste
  12. Cook the Vatana in a pressure cooker for 3-4 whistles
  13. 1 cup chopped coriander
  14. 1-2 green chillies chopped
  15. Pav buns

Instructions

  1. Heat some ghee or butter and sauté onions into translucent
  2. Add the garlic and ginger and saute
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes and chillies withturmeric
  4. Add the chopped vegetables and sauté
  5. Add salt and let this cook for couple of minutes
  6. Add the Vatana and add a cup of water
  7. Let this mix boil well add the pav bhaji masala at this stage
  8. Add the chilli powder next
  9. Add the ghee or butter at this stage mix well serve with chopped coriander
  10. In a pan add butter and turn the pav buns till they are cooked
  11. Serve buns with pav bhaji with chopped onions and wedge of lime
