Beetroot malai kofta curry

Ingredients to make Beetroot malai kofta curry

  • Beetroots 3 nos
  • Boiled potatoes 5 nos
  • salt 1/2 tsp
  • green chillies chopped 2 nos
  • Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
  • For Filling
  • paneer 1 cup
  • cream 1/2 cup
  • salt a pinch
  • For gravy
  • oil 3 tbsp
  • onions chopped 2 nos
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • tomato puree 1/2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • red chilli powder 2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  • coriander leaves for garnish

How to make Beetroot malai kofta curry

  1. Grate and lightly saute beetroots without oil in a non stick kadhai till it loses all its water content
  2. Mash boiled potatoes
  3. Add in both ingredients. Add salt, chopped green chillies, garam masala and knead till doughy consistency
  4. Mix paneer, cream, and salt
  5. Take small roundels of mixture fill with cream pinch the ends.
  6. Roll till smooth and fry
  7. Take out all koftas on an absorbent paper and keep aside
  8. For gravy
  9. Add chopped onions to oil. Saute till transparent
  10. Add ginger garlic paste and saute
  11. Add salt ,chilli powder,garam masala and saute
  12. Saute till the paste leaves oil, occasionally adding water
  13. Add tomato puree and simmer for 5 minutes.
  14. Add water to dilute the gravy
  15. Adjust seasoning.
  16. Add warm koftas
  17. Make sure one of either that is koftas and curry is boiling hot and the other is warm.
  18. Serve with boiled rice or tawa roti

Similar recipe can be made with carrots also
