ABOUT Aam daal RECIPE

A summer delicacy. A cooler when accompanied with jhinge posto. Any bengali will simply swear by these two.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup yellow Moong Dal
  2. 1 cup green mango cubes.
  3. Salt to taste
  4. 3 tablespoons sugar
  5. 1/4 teaspoon haldi powder
  6. Enough water to cook the dal
  7. Mustard seed for tempering
  8. 2 teaspoons mustard oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the dal with salt and haldi, with enough water.
  2. Add a little water and cook the mango pieces separately till done.
  3. Now mix the dal and the mango along with the water. Stir and mix well.
  4. Put the oil in a kadhai and heat. Add the mustard seed and two dry red chillies.
  5. Pour in the dal and add the sugar.
  6. Serve with rice and jhinge posto......the ultimate combination.
