Redvelvet Cookies

Ingredients to make Redvelvet Cookies

  • For the cookies-
  • maida -2 1/2 cups
  • butter softened-1 cup
  • Powdered sugar- 1 cup
  • Sour cream -3 tablesppon
  • Vanilla essence - 1 teaspoon
  • Red food colouring -1 tablespoon
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder- 2 teaspoons
  • For filling-
  • cream cheese,softened - 1 cup
  • butter softened-2 tablespoon
  • Vanilla essence -1/2 teaspoon
  • Powdered sugar- 2 cups
  • For garnishing -
  • Edible Pearl sprinklers(optional)

How to make Redvelvet Cookies

  1. For Cookies -
  2. Pre heat oven at 180 degrees C and line your baking tray with parchment paper and keep it aside.
  3. In a bowl add the butter and sugar and beat with the help of a beater until turns creamy and light .
  4. Add the vanilla essence, redfood colouring ,cocoa powder and sour cream and mix well
  5. Add the Maida and mix to form a dough.
  6. Cling wrap the dough and refrigerate for minimum 20 minutes.
  7. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it flat to 1/4 of an inch.
  8. Cut discs with the help of a tart mould and with the help of a knife make indents similar to shell and also shape it as a shell.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes at 180 degrees C
  10. Cool completely on a cooling rack before filling the cookies.
  11. For filling -
  12. In a bowl add the cream cheese and butter and beat with the help of a beater to mix well.
  13. Add in the vanilla, and sugar and beat well .
  14. Fill the filling in a piping bag and pipe the filling on one cookie .Place another cookie on top at and angle to show a little cream outside . Repeat for all the cookies.
  15. Sprinkle some pearl sprinklers to garnish. Your shell shaped red velvet cookies are ready to be served.

My Tip:

Use a shell shaped chocolate mould or Madeleine moulds to shape your cookies.Your job will become super easy.
