Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rava / sooji - 1 cup
  2. Maida - 1/2 cup
  3. Ghee - 2 & 1/2 tbsps + 3 tbsp
  4. Salt - a pinch
  5. Oil - for frying
  6. For the paste :
  7. Rice flour - 3 tsp
  8. Ghee - 3 tsp

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix the maida, rava, ghee, salt and mix to crumble well.
  2. Slowly, add required water and knead a soft dough.
  3. Keep in a pan with a lid, close the lid and keep aside for an hour.
  4. Mix the ghee and rice flour, beat well to get a smooth paste.
  5. After an hour, divide the dough into 6 equal portions, roll it into a thin circle/chapati.
  6. Apply rice flour paste on top of the rolled out circle/chapati, place another rolled out circle on top. Repeat.
  7. Place one chapati over another rolled chapati.
  8. Roll these layered chapatis tightly into a log.
  9. Cut the log into 1 inch pieces.
  10. Again roll out each pieces into a thin chapati. Keep aside.
  11. Heat oil in a frying pan on a low medium flame.
  12. Deep fry them.
  13. Place them on paper towels to drain out excess oil.
  14. While serving sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
  15. Enjoy.
