Ingredients to make Dalpuri

  • For stuffing
  • chana dal /cholar dal - 1 cup
  • ginger - 1/2 inch stick
  • Green chilli- 1 -2
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric -1\2 tsp
  • cumin Powder- 1 tsp
  • Garam masala Powder- 1tsp
  • sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • For daugh
  • maida /refine flour - 1/2 cup
  • Wheat flour /atta - 1/2 cup
  • salt -1/4 tsp
  • oil - 1 tbsp

How to make Dalpuri

  1. For stuffing Soak Chana dal for overnight or 3-4hrs in warm Water....then drain water.
  2. Add Chana dal into the blender along with ginger ,Green chilli,Salt,sugar, cumin powder.blend a smooth paste.
  3. Now heat a pan with 1tbsp oil ,Add turmeric powder,garam masala. Now add chana dal paste.stir continuously till dal paste form a soft lump..turn off Gas.let it cool
  4. Take a bowl add Maida and wheat flour .salt and oil .combine everything. Add Water gradually and make a soft and smooth daugh..cover it with damp cloth for 20 mins .
  5. Heat kadai with enough oil for deep frying.
  6. Take a medium size ball from daugh.
  7. Roll it little. .put 1 tsp dal mixture into the centre of the puri.
  8. Gather edges into centre.seal it .pinch off excess daugh.
  9. Again make a ball.flatten little. Roll it like medium circular disc.
  10. Add dalpuri into the medium hot oil.fry it both sides till golden brown and puffed.
  11. Take out from kadai and place it on paper towel for absorbing the execss oil....then place it on a serving plate.
  12. Serve hot dalpuri with dry potato curry..
