Ingredients to make Chum chum

  • Cow milk 1 litre
  • lemon juice 2-3 tablespoon
  • semolina 1 teaspoon
  • sugar 1 teaspoon
  • Baking powder 1/8 teaspoon (optional)
  • water 5 cup
  • sugar 1 and 1/2 Cup
  • Rose water 2-3 tablespoon
  • Khoya 1/4 cup
  • Icing sugar 2 tablespoon
  • Decicated coconut 1/4 cup

How to make Chum chum

  1. In a pan boil milk.
  2. Put lemon juice in the booking milk.
  3. Strain the cogulated milk in any muslin cloth.
  4. Chenna will be left on the top.
  5. Put 1 to 2 cup of cold water on chenna..
  6. Chenna is ready!!
  7. Sprinkle semolina on the surface.
  8. Mix chenna and semolina thoroughly till it become smooth.
  9. Mix the sugar and water in pressure cooker and bring it to a boil.
  10. Make sure your cooker is large enough to accommodate the finished chum chum.
  11. Meanwhile the sugar syrup boils..
  12. Divide your chenna into small marble sized balls
  13. Now gently press them into oblong shape and then flatten a little.
  14. Gently put the balls into the sugar syrup.
  15. Let it boil for 5 minutes on high flame in the beginning.
  16. And then on slow flame for 7-8 minutes for these few minutes cover your cooker.
  17. They will expand to almost double its actual size...
  18. When cool, Pour rose water and chill for few hours.
  19. When chilled pick out your chum chums and make a cut on its side.
  20. Now knead khoya until smooth.
  21. Add icing sugar to it.
  22. Fill chum chum with this mixture..
  23. Roll them into decicated coconut...
  24. Garnish the way you like and enjoy!!

My Tip:

I prefer serving this sweet chilled...
