ABOUT Ground Lemon Very Hot Chutney / Pickle RECIPE

This is my friend, Zarina Cama Clowsley's recipe She is a great cook and if you just follow her you can't go wrong and that is exactly what I've done.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 1 kg - regular ripe lemons
  2. salt and black salt to taste
  3. 3 to 4 tbs - red chili powder
  4. 1 cup - Sugar
  5. 2 tsp - hing / asafoetida
  6. 2 cups - extra lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Clean and finely chop the lemons alongwith the skin.
  2. Add all the ingredients to the finely chopped lemons and stir well.
  3. Cover the bowl with a muslin cloth and leave out in the sun for at least 3 days. More if the sun is not too strong. Stir it at least twice a day.
  4. Once the skins are soft, blitz the mixture in a food processor until a smooth paste is formed.
  5. Store in a sterilized and airtight jar and enjoy
