Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For Marination -
  2. Chicken 6 pieces ( 4 leg pieces slightly cut)
  3. Curd 1 1/2 tbsp
  4. Green chilies 4
  5. Biryani masala 2 tsp
  6. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  7. Coriander and pudina leaves chopped 1 cup
  8. Lemon juice 1 tsp
  9. Sligjtly fried potato cut into
  10. salt as per taste
  11. For Rice -
  12. Basmati rice 3 cups
  13. Choti elaichi 4
  14. Badi elaichi 3
  15. Bay leaf 2
  16. Laung 7
  17. Kalimirch 8
  18. Dalchini small stick
  19. Salt to taste
  20. ghee 2 tbsp
  21. Fried onion 1
  22. Kaju fried 10
  23. Kesar soaked in warm milk 2 tsp
  24. oil 1 tbsp
  25. Atta small dough to seal handi
  26. 2 boiled eggs

Instructions

  1. First marinate the chicken if possible and keep overnight or keep for 3-4 hrs.
  2. Then prepare rice. First soak rice for 30 mins. Then boil water add sufficient salt and all garam masala.
  3. When it starts boiling add rice and drain the rice when it is 75% cooked.
  4. In that biryani handi, put oil then add marinated chicken. Cook for 15 mins. Then add that rice and sprinkle fried onion, kaju, ghee and kesar milk.
  5. Then take atta dough make roll to seal the handi. Cook on slow flame for 20 mins.
  6. After 20 mins turn off the gas and let it sit for 30 mins. Serve it with onion raita and boiled egg cut into half.
