Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Homemade paneer - 2 cups
  2. Maida - 4 tsp
  3. Baking powder - 1/4 tsp
  4. Milk - 4-5 tsp
  5. Raisins as needed
  6. For sugar syrup -
  7. Sugar - 1 cup
  8. Water - 1/2 cup
  9. Rose water - 1 tsp
  10. Cardamom powder - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. In a bowl take paneer, maida, baking powder and mix them very well.
  2. Add milk 1 tsp at a time and knead a smooth dough. Wrap the dough in a cling film and keep in the fridge for 20 mins.
  3. Take the dough out of the fridge and make small balls from it. Place raisin in the center of each ball and roll it nicely.
  4. Heat the oil in a wok. Deep fry paneer balls on medium flame till light brown. Drain and keep aside.
  5. In another heavy bottom pan add sugar, water and cardamon powder. Boil it till syrup reaches one string consistency. Switch off the flame.
  6. Add rose water and mix. Add fried jamuns in it. Cover the pan with lid for 2 hrs.
  7. Take it out on a serving plate and sprinkle coconut powder over the ready gulab jamuns.
  8. Serve hot or cold as desired.
