Ingredients to make Rasagulla

  • 2 liters whole milk
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tsp refined flour (maida)
  • 4 cups thin sugar syrup - flavored with cardamom

How to make Rasagulla

  1. Boil milk and add the lemon juice gradually, till milk curdles
  2. Drain off water and take out cheese and put it in a cloth. Squeeze it so that excess water drains out.
  3. Mash cheese with your palm so that it becomes very smooth. Add the flour and mash some more.
  4. Bring 4-6 cups of water to a boil and put 2 cups of sugar into it.
  5. Now shape the cheese into balls and put these balls into the boiling water, cover with a tight-fitting cover and cook it for about 20 minutes so that balls are double in size.
  6. Remove from syrup till well soaked. Serve
