Ingredients to make Kajjikayalu

  • For Filling -
  • ¼ Kg Putnalu / roasted daliya
  • ¼ Kg jaggery
  • ½ cup Dry coconut powder
  • 1 Tsp Elachi powder
  • For dough -
  • ½ kg all purpose flour
  • 3 tsp curd
  • water
  • oil to fry

How to make Kajjikayalu

  1. For Filling -
  2. In a mixie jar, add putnalu, jaggery, coconut powder, elachi and make a fine powder.
  3. For Dough -
  4. In a bowl add flour, curd and mix well. By adding a little water at a time, make a smooth dough. Cover it. Keep it aside for 30 mins.
  5. For Kajjikayalu -
  6. heat oil in a wide pan.
  7. Divide into puri size balls. Roll it like puri. Place 1 Tsp powder in the center of puri.
  8. Apply some water to the corners of puri. Close it by pressing the two ends. Deep fry in oil until light brown.
  9. Let it cool. It will become crisp. Serve
