Gajar Halwa

Ingredients to make Gajar Halwa

  • 1/2 kg carrots grated
  • 1/2 litre full fat milk
  • 100 gms mawa (optional)
  • 400 gms sugar (sweetness can be adjusted)
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/2 cup dry fruits
  • 2 tsp ghee

How to make Gajar Halwa

  1. In a deep pan mix grated carrot and milk
  2. Keep on flame
  3. Stir continuously
  4. when it becomes thick add mawa
  5. Cook for 5 more minutes
  6. Now add sugar
  7. Keep on cooking till water evaporates and it becomes thick
  8. Aadd dry fruits and cardmom powder
  9. Finally add ghee and switch off the gas
  10. Transfer to a plate
  11. Garnish it with badam and pistachio

My Tip:

Serve hot halwa with chilled vanilla icecream
