ABOUT Green Chickpeas Balls RECIPE

Chickpeas are young garbanzo beans, they have a delicious taste and buttery texture. These beans are a rich source of zinc, copper, protein, vitamins and iron. They are low in fat and many more health benefits. In India, it usually arrives in the market just before Holi. It can be used in different cuisines in different ways. We can make soups, salads, curries, dips and desserts. Here is a recipe of Punjabi style laddoos from these.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Green Chickpeas 100gm
  2. Castor sugar 100gm
  3. Khoya 100gm
  4. Desi ghee 2tbsp
  5. Char magaz 1 tbsp
  6. 10 almonds chopped
  7. 10 cashewnuts chopped
  8. Green Cardamom powder 12 tsp

Instructions

  1. In a non- stick pan, add khoya and cook it till the moisture goes away and khoya becomes dry
  2. Remove from the pan and cool it.
  3. Now take green chickpeas wash thoroughly in cold water and grind it to make a fine paste.
  4. Now in a pan , add desi ghee and chickpeas paste and simmer it for 15-20 minutes till it becomes nicely roasted.
  5. Add khoya in it and cook again for some time.
  6. Add sugar, dry nuts and cardomom powder in it. Turn off the gas and mix well all the things.
  7. Cool it and make small balls of this mixture.
  8. Your tasty dessert is ready to serve.
