ABOUT Motichoor Laddoo RECIPE

Motichoor laddoo is a staple sweet dish in every indian wedding,festival and special occasion.Motichoor laddoo is made of fine boondies of chikpea flour that are fried in desi ghee and after that mixed with sugar syrup.Even motichur laddoo is favourite of Ganpati ji.I followed the recipe of pallavi.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. For Boondi-
  2. Besan( chikpea flour,gram flour)-1cup
  3. Orange food colour-1 pinch
  4. Desi ghee-1 tablespoon
  5. Desi ghee for frying -300 grams
  6. Hot water-1 teaspoon
  7. For sugar syrup-
  8. 1+1/2 (one and half cup) cup sugar
  9. Water- 1cup
  10. Cashewnuts -6 (for garnishing )


  1. Take a bowl and add 1 cup besan, pinch of colour,desi ghee and mix well.
  2. Then add 3/4 cup water and make thick batter (pouring consistency) without lumps.
  3. Heat ghee in kadhai (pan) and drop boondies in ghee using perforated spoon (spoon used for frying)
  4. Rub the batter on the spoon with holes so that small drops of batter drops in ghee
  5. Fry boondies till golden brown.then remove and keep aside.
  6. Take another pan and put sugar and water ,mix well to dissolve sugar and bring to boil till one thread consistency (take one drop of syrup between finger and thumb and check one thread consistency)
  7. Switch off the flame and add prepared boondi with 1 teaspoon hot water . You may use a blender to mix
  8. Let it cool and make a small ball sized laddoo and garnish with cashew nuts.
  9. Motichoor laddoos are ready
