ABOUT Whole wheat Methi Mathris RECIPE

This is such a handy snack to carry for my toddler when we are out shopping or even on vacation they are so easy to make and convenient to carry.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
  2. Besan or gram flour - 1/4 cup
  3. Sooji or rawa - 1 tbsp
  4. Ghee - 2 to 3 tbsp
  5. Maida - 2 tbsp (optional)
  6. Kasuri methi - 2 tbsp
  7. Garlic grated - 1/2 tsp (or more as per taste)
  8. Jeera - 1/2 tsp
  9. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  10. Red chili powder - 1/2 tsp
  11. A pinch of Ajwain (optional)
  12. Water as required
  13. Oil for frying
  14. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and mix the wheat flour, besan, sooji , maida and salt.
  2. Now add in the other ingredients except water and mix well.
  3. Add water to form a semi stiff dough. Cover with a kitchen towel and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  4. Now, roll out a big roti (not too thick nor thin) and then prick with a fork throughout.
  5. Now using a cookie cutter, cut out the small shapes.
  6. Start frying by adding one by one and adjusting the flame from high to medium till they are done well.
  7. Remove and keep on a kitchen paper and let it cool.
  8. Your whole wheat tasty methi mathris are ready.

wow. .. using wheat flour. That's great. Thanks for sharing. Just one question. The ghee should be added at room temperature? Or should it be hot?
