Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 cup corn flour
  2. 1 and 1/2 cup sugar
  3. 3 cups water
  4. 1 cup ghee
  5. 1/2 cup water melon seeds
  6. 1/2 cup finely chopped dry fruits like cashew, almonds or pistas
  7. 1/4 tsp citric acid ( nimboo sat )
  8. 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  9. 1/4 tsp food colour ( orange, red or green )

Instructions

  1. Take a non stick pan ( if possible )
  2. Add sugar and 2 cups water on a medium flame and let the sugar dissolve
  3. Meanwhile take cornflour in a bowl and add the left over 1 cup water and dissolve it with the help of spoon. Mix properly
  4. When the sugar is fully dissolve and it starts bubbling, add cornflour mixture
  5. Now stir it firmly with the help of spatula. Don’t allow it to stick to pan
  6. Now the mixture will become dry. Lower the flame
  7. Add one spoon of ghee and stir it continuously till it absorbs all the ghee
  8. Add one more tablespoon of ghee
  9. Like wise keep adding ghee till the ghee is over
  10. Now dissolve the citric acid in one tablespoon of water and add it to the mixture. Add melon seeds
  11. Stir it again and add food colour
  12. Mix the food colour by stirring the mixture continuously
  13. Stir for 5 to 6 minutes then take it out in a square bowl
  14. Let it dry for an hour
  15. Cut it into square shapes
