ABOUT Shakarkand ki Rasmalai (Sweet Potato Rasmalai) RECIPE

Shakarkand is my favorite food. Here is a Rasmalai recipe developed by me using Shakarkand

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 250 gm sweet potatoes (Shakarkand)
  2. 4-5 tea spoon arrow root powder (as binding agent)
  3. 1 teaspoon clarified butter
  4. 500 ml full cream milk
  5. 4-5 green cardamom powder
  6. 5-6 soaked and chopped almonds
  7. 25 gm Raisins
  8. 1 pinch of nutmeg powder
  9. 75 gm sugar powder
  10. 200 gm -Nestle Milk made (sweetened condensed milk)

Instructions

  1. First clean and dry the sweet potatoes and then boil in a pressure cooker till soft
  2. Keep aside for 5 mins and then peel off and mash into a fine pulp
  3. Then add arrow root powder into it. Then 2 teaspoon sugar powder mixed this properly and make flat round shape pieces and shallow fry this in clarified butter in a frying pan.
  4. Boil the milk and then add remaining sugar powder, Nestle Milkmaid, chopped almond slices, cardamom powder, nutmeg powder and raisins. (you may add kaju, pista or any other dry fruit if you wish)
  5. Keep aside for 10-15 min to cool and keep it in the refrigerator
  6. After 1-2 hours take out this milk and then add above sweet potato pieces and serve.
