ABOUT Sugar Cookies RECIPE

Hey it’s cookie time.I am in the mood to bake some nice cookies, simple and without any add ons like nuts or choco chips.So I thought of making melting moments with a touch of sprinkling sugar.Last time I made these cookies a few days back when my grandson Rudraaksh was here in his summer holidays.He is real fond of baked goodies. This time he learnt to bake these cookies from me. He does all the mixing, rolling and cutting.I did the baking part. So here is the recipe…

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Flour- 210g
  2. corn flour-40g
  3. Butter- 190g
  4. Icing sugar-80g -100g according to your taste
  5. Salt-a pinch
  6. Vanilla-1tsp

Instructions

  1. Take a mixing bowl add butter and sugar and cream the mixture until light and fluffy. Add essence. Sieve and stir together flour, cornflour and salt. Fold flour and butter mixture together and form the dough into a log.
  2. Wrap the log in a cling film and refrigrate it for an hr.Take it out and cut the dough into 1/4 inch thick round cookies. Place the cookies on a prepared cookie sheet 3-4 cm apart to give them space to expand during baking.
  3. Sprinkle some sugar over and bake the cookies in a preheated oven for 15 minutes at 180 deg C.Remove from oven and let it remain in the tray for 2-3 minutes and then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
