Ingredients to make Tikdiya

  • For dough - 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsp oil
  • water as required
  • For masalas - 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tbsp roasted jeera powder
  • Ghee/ oil for application

How to make Tikdiya

  1. Make a soft dough using flour, oil, and water. Let the dough rest for 10 mins.
  2. Mix all dry masalas and keep aside.
  3. Divide the dough and roll out a small chapatti. Apply oil/ghee on it. Sprinkle the masala on it.
  4. Make a roll
  5. Turn the roll and make a round flat peda.
  6. Apply dry flour and roll out with light hand, not pressing too hard into a chapatti.
  7. Put it on a hot tawa
  8. After 1 min flip it. With tongs prick the roti. This will prevent it from puffing when put on direct fire.
  9. Put directly on flame and roast on both sides till crisp
  10. Apply ghee and serve hot with any curry
