Instant Rawa Dhokla

Ingredients to make Instant Rawa Dhokla

  • 2 cups Rawa / sooji
  • 1 cup curd
  • water to adjust batter consistency
  • salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of Eno fruit salt
  • 1 Green chilli, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • For the Tempering - 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 tablespoons of mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoons of whole jeera
  • 12 to 15 curry leaves

How to make Instant Rawa Dhokla

  1. Whisk up all the ingredients, except the Eno salt and tempering ingredients.
  2. Adjust consistency like Idli batter by adding water.
  3. Let it stand for 10 minutes.
  4. Heat water in a steamer or a big pressure cooker with a ring placed in it.
  5. Grease a cake tin.
  6. In the batter, add the Eno salt and whisk very quickly.
  7. Bubbles will rise.
  8. Pour the batter in the tin and Place it on the ring.
  9. Place a heavy lid and cook on slow flame for 15 -17 minutes.
  10. Shut off the flame and let stand for 5 minutes before de moulding.
  11. Prepare the tempering-
  12. Heat two tablespoons of oil and add the mustard seeds, jeera and curry leaves.
  13. Let them splutter.
  14. Pour over the Dhokhla pieces and cut into pieces .
  15. Serve hot with chutney.
