ABOUT Green Banana Pickle RECIPE

Fire-roasted raw banana gives a unique taste and flavour to a dish. Here I have used fire-roasted raw bananas to make a South Indian favourite pickle. This mouth-watering pickle will be a great side dish for hot rice.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 Raw banana
  2. Mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  3. Red dry chillies 5
  4. Methi seeds 1/4 teaspoon
  5. Hing powder 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Salt as per your taste
  7. Tamarind piece lemon size
  8. urad dal 1 teaspoon
  9. Green chillies 2
  10. oil 2 teaspoons
  11. Coriander 3 teaspoons

Instructions

  1. Take raw bananas and directly steam on the stove until it turns black colour.
  2. Cool for sometime, peel the banana and collect the pulp.
  3. Take a pan, put some oil and fry mustard seeds, red chillies, green chillies, urad dal, hing powder, methi seeds and tamarind.
  4. Blend all the fried pulses in a mixie including banana pulp and add salt.
  5. Finally garnish with coriander leaves.
