Besani Tikki Sabji

Ingredients to make Besani Tikki Sabji

  • For the tikkis - 2 cups besan
  • salt to taste
  • 4-5 tablespoon warm oil
  • water to knead a very tight dough
  • 1 teaspoon khus-khus
  • For the gravy - 3 medium sized onions, chopped finely
  • 2 big tomatoes, chopped finely
  • salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli Powder
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • ½ teaspoon haldi
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Green coriander leaves, to garnish

How to make Besani Tikki Sabji

  1. Tikki - Take the besan and add in oil and all ingredients.
  2. Using as little water as possible, knead a tight dough.
  3. Make small balls and press to make tikkis.
  4. Deep fry to golden color on slow-medium flame.
  5. Keep aside.
  6. Gravy Steps - In a pressure cooker, heat the oil and fry the onion to brown.
  7. Add the tomatoes and fry till well cooked.
  8. Add all the powder masalas.
  9. Fry for 1 minute.
  10. Add 4-5 cups water and cook for 5 minutes.
  11. Blend the gravy.
  12. Add the tikkis and cook for 1 whistle.
  13. Garnish with green dhania leaves.
  14. Serve with saffron rice and Roti
