ABOUT Banana Bread RECIPE

When life gives you overripe banana then make a simple banana bread. I have made the bread healthy by adding whole wheat flour to it. Recipe adapted from cookclickndevour

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Whole wheat flour – 1/2 Cup
  2. All purpose flour – 1 cup
  3. Banana puree – 3/4 cup ( about 2 big bananas )
  4. Sugar – 1/2 cup
  5. Vanilla essence -1 tsp
  6. Salt -a pinch
  7. Baking powder – 1 1/2 tsp
  8. Melted butter or oil – 1/2 cup.

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 170 degrees C
  2. Sift all-purpose flour, wheat flour, salt, baking powder together twice.
  3. Grind bananas to fine puree without adding water.
  4. In a bowl add sugar , melted butter or oil , vanilla and mix well till sugar dissolves.
  5. Then add banana puree and mix well.
  6. Now add dry flour mixture to the bowl and keep mixing.
  7. Mix well and pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and bake for 30 mins or till a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Remove from oven and let the bread cool a bit , invert from pan and serve hot or cold as per your choice.
  9. Warm bread also tastes great.You can store in an airtight container for 4 days
