Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. black gram skinned 1cup
  2. Rice 2cups
  3. fenugreek seeds1tsl
  4. Water as needed
  5. beetroot pury 3tbsp
  6. Eno 1tsp
  7. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak black gram skinned(urad dal dhuli) rice fenugreek sedds for 6-7hours then grind and make a fine paste again leave it for 7-8hours for fermentation
  2. Mix salt and eno it this batter divide in two parts add beetroot pury in one part
  3. Add required water for making idali batter and prepare 2batters one white one pink
  4. Now greese idali moulds with little oil and pour 1tbsp of white batter and then pour 1tbsp of pink battar over it
  5. Again repeat same step and you will see 4rings of battet 2white and 2pink
  6. Now the magic time take a toothpick make 5 lines in the batter starting from the centre
  7. Now reverse the action make another 5lines starting from end to the centre draw this lines in the middle of two lines
  8. You will see a beautiful flower in the idli mould
  9. Steam it for 10minuts serve with samber chutney or tomato rasam
