ABOUT Plantain Pachadi RECIPE

Plantain pacchadi or Aratikaya pacchadi is made with boiled raw banana, green chilies and yogurt. It is very tasty and is usually served with hot rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Plantain - 1
  2. Green chilies - 10
  3. Salt - as per taste
  4. Tamarind paste - 1 tbsp
  5. Garlic cloves - 3
  6. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  7. Curd - 1 cup
  8. For seasoning:
  9. Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  10. Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
  11. Red chilies - 2-3
  12. Curry leaves - 5-6
  13. Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp

Instructions

  1. Boil plantain in the pressure cooker for 3 whistles. Cool it and remove the outer skin of plantain.
  2. Add oil and green chilies in a pan and fry till the chilies change their color.
  3. Cool for a while and add green chilies, boiled plantain pieces, salt, garlic, cumin, tamarind paste and grind it on low speed for a while along with little curd.
  4. Now add the remaining curd and whisk for few seconds.
  5. Our chutney is ready and transfer it into the serving bowl.
  6. Now add seasoning to hot oil and add it to the serving bowl.
  7. Plantain Pachadi is ready.
