ABOUT Whole Wheat Banana Almonds Dates Cake RECIPE

This cake is not only awesome in taste but healthy too because its loaded with the benefits of bananas, dates & almonds. Above all, the best part is that its made with wheat flour.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Whole Wheat flour - 120 gms
  2. Dates seedless - 15-20
  3. Over ripeBanana - 1
  4. Almond - 15 nos
  5. Baking powder - 1 tsp
  6. Baking Soda - ½ tsp
  7. Sugar - ½ cup
  8. Melted Butter / oil - 50 gms ( I used oil )
  9. Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  10. Milk – 200ml

Instructions

  1. Grease cake tin with oil & maida, keep aside .
  2. Preheat your oven at 170°C for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix together whole wheat flour, baking powder & baking soda. keep aside.
  4. Soak the dates in hot milk for 15-20 mins or till it becomes soft.
  5. Dry roast almonds for 2 mins in a pan & Take the almonds in a blender, make a fine powder.
  6. Take soaked dates with milk in a blender add sugar and powered almonds, blend them to a smooth puree.
  7. Take this mixture in a bowl, add banana puree, vanilla essence, oil and mix well.
  8. Add the flour, baking powder and baking soda to this mix and gently fold it to make a smooth batter without any lumps.
  9. Pour the batter in a greased cake pan. Garnish it with the sliced almond.
  10. Bake the cake for 35 - 40 mins at 170 °C. Start checking from 35 mins. A tooth pick inserted should come out clean, if not bake further for few mins.
  11. Remove from the oven, de-mould after 5 minutes. Let it cool down completely then serve.
