Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Spinach leaves/Palak - 2 cups
  2. Shallots/Pearl onions - 10 , peeled
  3. Green chillies - 3
  4. Garlic - 4-5 cloves
  5. Mustard seeds - 1tsp
  6. urad dal - 1 tsp
  7. Oil - 1 tsp
  8. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat a little oil and add the washed and torn up spinach leaves, peeled shallots, green chillies and garlic.
  2. Let it cook until the spinach wilts and the shallots are done.
  3. Remove from heat, let it cool and blend it in a mixie. You can leave the consistency to your liking.
  4. Heat a little oil in a pan and temper with mustard seeds, urad dal and add the spinach puree to it.
  5. Add salt to taste, leave it on the heat for a minute and serve hot.
  6. Tastes amazing with steamed rice and some ghee.
