Caramelized Banana Ice cream

Ingredients to make Caramelized Banana Ice cream

  • Overripe bananas - 3
  • Brown sugar - 1/3 cup
  • butter - 1 tablespoon
  • Whole milk - 1 1/2 cups
  • Granulated sugar - 2 tablespoons
  • Vanilla essence - 1/2 teaspoon
  • lemon juice - 1 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt - 1/4 teaspoon

How to make Caramelized Banana Ice cream

  1. Slice the bananas into 1/2 inch pieces.
  2. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  3. Toss them with brown sugar and butter in a baking dish.
  4. Bake for about 40 minutes, stirring once during baking until the bananas turn soft and golden brown.
  5. Immediately transfer the bananas into a blender (if you wait too long the caramel will begin to harden)
  6. Add in the milk,granulated sugar,vanilla essence,lemon juice and salt.Puree until smooth.
  7. Chill the mixture thoroughly in the refrigerator.
  8. Once well chilled,whisk the mixture quickly and freeze in refrigerator for 7-8 hours or overnight.
  9. Scoop and serve.
